This document is currently only available in English and is the authoritative version in the event of any discrepancy with a translated summary elsewhere.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, joining a trip as a guest, or otherwise using Map2Point’s mobile or web applications (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

2. Who can use Map2Point

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to create an account. Guest participants joining via an invite code represent that any information they provide (like a display name) is accurate and not impersonating someone else.

3. Your responsibilities

  • Map2Point is a coordination tool, not a driving aid that replaces attention to the road. You’re responsible for complying with local laws regarding phone use while driving.
  • Don’t use the Service to harass, threaten, or endanger others, including through voice messages or shared stops.
  • Don’t attempt to access another trip’s data without authorization, or to abuse invitation codes/links to gain unauthorized access.
  • The emergency (SOS) feature notifies your trip’s participants — it is not a substitute for contacting local emergency services when you need them.
  • Expense records you add (amounts, who paid, receipt photos) should be accurate to the best of your knowledge — other participants rely on them to understand what was spent on the group’s behalf.

4. Trip organizers

If you create a trip or meeting point, you’re responsible for who you invite and what roles/permissions you grant them. You can end a trip, remove a participant, or revoke an invitation at any time from the app or this website.

5. Content you share

You retain ownership of the trip names, stop descriptions, photos, expense records, and voice messages you create. By sending them through the Service, you grant us the limited right to store and transmit that content to the intended recipients (your trip’s other participants) — nothing more.

6. Shared expense tracking

If your group logs shared costs in a trip, those expense records — amounts, who paid, notes, and receipt photos — are for your group’s own reference. Map2Point does not process payments, hold funds, or transfer money between users. Settling up is between you and your trip’s participants, outside the Service. Amounts, currencies, and receipts are self-reported by whoever adds them; we don’t verify their accuracy and aren’t a party to how your group divides or settles costs.

7. Plans, payment and taxes

Map2Point is free to use within the Free plan’s limits. Two paid options are available, and only the person who creates a trip ever pays — everyone else joins with a link, free, without an account:

  • Trip Pass — a single, one-off payment that unlocks one specific trip for up to 14 days from the day it starts. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
  • Unlimited — an annual plan covering unlimited trips for one organizer. It renews yearly until cancelled; you can cancel at any time from your account settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid year.

Prices are shown in US dollars. Depending on where you live, VAT, GST or other sales tax may be added at checkout and shown before you pay. You are responsible for any taxes not collected by us. See the pricing page for current plan details and limits.

8. Refunds and your right to cancel

An unused Trip Pass can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. A Trip Pass is “used” once the trip it unlocks has started.

If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase without giving a reason. Because Map2Point is digital content supplied immediately, you are asked at checkout to consent to the service starting straight away and to acknowledge that doing so ends your right of withdrawal once the trip has started. Until you start the trip, the 14-day right is unaffected.

Annual Unlimited plans can be cancelled at any time and will not renew; we do not refund the unused remainder of a year that has already begun, except where local consumer law requires it.

To request a refund, email support@map2point.app.

9. Availability and international use

Map2Point is offered worldwide from the European Union and is provided in English, Bulgarian, German, Spanish and French. Some content — including this page, the privacy policy and the blog — is currently available in English only; where a translation of this document exists and conflicts with the English version, the English version governs.

You are responsible for complying with the laws of the country you are using the Service in, including laws on phone use while driving and on sharing another person’s location. We may not make the Service, or particular features, available in every country.

Data is processed on infrastructure that may be located outside your country. See the Privacy Policy for what is collected, who can see it, and how long it is kept — location data in particular is deleted within 24 hours after a trip ends.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, attempt to abuse the Service, or pose a risk to other users.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is.” Location accuracy, message delivery, and notification timing depend on device conditions, network connectivity, and third-party infrastructure outside our control, and we can’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation — particularly in areas with poor or no cellular/data coverage.

Map2Point runs in a web browser and does not track your location in the background. Sharing stops when the browser tab is hidden or the screen locks. Do not rely on it as a safety or emergency system.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Map2Point is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on location, alert, or navigation features while driving, or from how your group divides or settles shared expenses tracked in the Service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any mandatory statutory rights you have as a consumer.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria, and the courts of Bulgaria have jurisdiction over any dispute.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-law rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.

Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We would much rather resolve things directly — email support@map2point.app first.

14. Changes to these terms

We’ll update the date at the top of this page when these terms change, and make a reasonable effort to notify active users of material changes. For changes that reduce your rights or increase your obligations, we will give reasonable notice before they take effect.

15. Contact
